Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick Districts have been actively targeted by solar farm developers which has now resulted in a serious cumulative impact and loss of rural countryside and landscape character to millions of solar panels in the area.

 

• Over 1000 acres of agricultural land within five miles of Moreton Morrell and Lighthorne parishes are now solar farms with 4,000,000 solar panels!

• Industrial scale development in the open countryside - around 4000 solar panels are used per acre

• The proposed Moreton Morrell and Lighthorne site will house nearly 500,000 solar panels over 120+ acres

• There are 23 solar farm sites in Stratford-on-Avon District either in the planning, constructing or operational status!

• NO GREEN ENERGY BENEFIT TO LOCAL VILLAGERS

• Energy generated goes into the grid to fulfil NATIONAL not LOCAL demand and fills the pockets of the developers and their shareholders

• Green energy also comes at a price to users

• Thousands more acres in Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District are being targeted by developers

• Solar panels are imported from China impacting on global carbon footprint

• Local councillors have called for the development of updated renewable energy policies as a supplementary planning document to the Core Strategy, which address the cumulation factor, scale and size.
